Festival Videography

Moisture Festival has a dedicated team of videographers for all shows, documenting the acts, the scene and even the backstage world. This is one of the special things about the Moisture Festival that has helped facilitate its public awareness in Seattle, as well as creating a body of images for performers to make use of for their own publicity needs.

Videos are used as publicity for the festival, including social media outlets. Moisture Festival uses the images in advertising for the festival, unless artists specifically opt out. Our photographers and videographers may use the images for their own publicity, websites and gallery shows (with attribution to the performers), but not for commercial uses without the performer’s permission.

Our videographer team this year includes: Alan Plotkin, Charly Castors, and Michael Falcone.

Performers may obtain a video of their performance free of charge from festival videographer Alan Plotkin.  Alan will be in touch with each act to arrange supplying your video. Videos will be sent by May 1, but please contact Alan to make arrangements if you need your video earlier. It is our intent to video every show, but we cannot guarantee that this will be possible. Acts that decline the video release will not be recorded.

The intent of the Festival is to use these recordings for archival and promotional purposes and to offer performers the opportunity to obtain high-quality video of their acts. You must agree to the Video Release in your contract in order to make this purchase.

If you do not wish to be recorded, and do not wish to be included in the video of the show, please select "Decline" in the video release section of your contract and the cameras will be turned off during your act.

If you have any further questions, please contact Rhonda.

Photography, video and recordings of any kind are only allowed by credentialed individuals. Credentialed individuals include  the Moisture Festival photo and video team, authorized press or others who have made prior arrangements. If you feel it is crucial to hire your own photographer or videographer, you will need to request special permission for that by emailing rhonda@moisturefestival.org. If you are granted permission you will need to follow the instructions below.

USING YOUR OWN PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER
Once you have confirmed arrangements through Rhonda for your own photographer/videographer, you will need to arrange a comp ticket for your personal photographer or videographer if they intend to watch the show. Your camera person should plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before curtain. They must check in at the Box Office and let the staff know they are your photographer. The Box Office staff will call the House Manager who will work with your photographer to explain where they can stand, shoot and move within the venue, as well as supply them with photo/video credentials which they must display while working. These credentials must be returned to the House Manager at the end of the show.  Please let your photographer/ videographer know that they are only authorized to shoot your act, not the other performers.
