Backstage Safety & Guest Policy

Safety:

It is important for all of us to work together to ensure safety and security at Broadway Performance Hall. We have been warned by Seattle Central Security (who oversees this venue) that it is unsafe to prop open doors or let people in through any doors other than the main entrance.

Be aware - very close to the Green Room entrance there is a door to the outside. It is crucial that we make sure this door is fully shut and locked at all times. Please take note when you pass this door.

Because there have been prior incidents of theft, please do not leave anything unattended in the hallways or any areas other than the Green Room and dressing rooms.

It is very important that we stay constantly vigilant regarding anyone who might be hanging around backstage, in the hallways or in the green room who is not authorized to be there. Let’s make sure we all stay safe!

Guests:

If you’ve performed at Moisture Festival in the past, you know that our cozy green rooms are a lovely place to gather, catch up with old friends and hang out. You also know that those areas are small, with very limited seating or even standing room.

In the best interest of our artists, staff and volunteers' health and safety, Moisture Festival must limit backstage and green room access to those participants who are performing and/or working during a specific show. We ask that you respect our wish to have the green room afford enough space to accommodate the needs of those folks involved in a show. Please consider this when making a decision on whether or not to invite children, partners or even other Moisture Festival artists who are not involved in your specific show to visit you backstage.

Broadway Performance Hall has two large lobbies with lots of room to visit. You can meet your guests in the lobby after the show to catch-up.

If you have a guest and would like them to see the show, please review our Comp Tickets page for more information.

If you have read the above and still feel that it is necessary to have a guest join you backstage, please continue reading the specifics on how to make that happen.

Backstage Guest Passes:

There are Guest Passes available from the Artist Check-In desk.  We have a limited number of passes, so first priority is given to those who need to be backstage. If you are issued a Guest Pass you must bring it to your guest (who has been waiting patiently in the lobby), and then escort your guest backstage.

Passes are stickers that are good for the current day only. Your guest should wear this where it’s visible (make life easy for our volunteers!). If your guest is in the Green Room when dinner is being served, please do NOT invite them to have dinner unless there is food left after all of the performers and volunteers have eaten (this is later than you think - volunteers may still be working on clean up). After the line for food disappears, ask the volunteers serving the food if the whole crew has been fed and if there is enough for you to invite your guest to eat. Remember that some crew members have work to do after the show ends, before they can eat, so ASK before you offer.

A BACKSTAGE GUEST PASS DOES NOT EQUAL A SEAT IN THE THEATER FOR THE SHOW.  Likewise, a comp ticket does not equal a pass backstage.  If you want your guest to have a seat for the show and have access to the backstage, you will need both. See Comp Tickets for info on getting your guest a seat in the theater. Anyone seated in the theater must have a ticket (either paid or a comp ticket). The last row of seats in this venue butt up against a wall, so there is absolutely no standing room and it is prohibited to stand in the aisles.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR DOING YOUR PART TO HELP THE FESTIVAL RUN SMOOTHLY.
